Message to the Congregation:
Greetings to you all in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
It is with great joy and humility that I greet you as I continue this blessed journey of ministry among God’s people. I thank the Almighty God for His faithfulness and for the privilege of serving in His vineyard. I also extend my heartfelt gratitude to the church leadership and congregation for your love, support, and prayers.
As we walk together in faith, it is my earnest prayer that we may grow deeper in God’s Word, stronger in fellowship, and more committed to His mission. Let us strive to build a Christ-centered community marked by love, unity, and service. May our lives reflect His grace as we witness to the world around us.
I look forward to worshipping, serving, and growing together with each one of you. May the Lord guide us and use us for His glory.
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him.” – Romans 15:13

Collect: Dear God, the Source of Life, Creator of the Universe, who created human beings in your own image and likeness, we thank and praise you for your grace and fellowship. O God, the fountain of inclusiveness, the shelter refugees, the sanctuary of the socially segregated, the bridge connecting the disconnected, the oasis for the faint-hearted, the safe roof for the uprooted in the name of developments, the space for those who have been denied space, the inn for the internally and externally displaced, we glorify your Holy name. Be merciful towards us and lead us to live a community life with unconditional sacrificial love, which you metaphorically expressed on the cross. We pray in the name of your Son, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen

BRIEF HISTORY OF
THE CHURCH
LIST OF PASTORS SERVED

CSI Wesley church was established in 1848 by the Wesley missionaries. This church has roots in the teachings of Rev. John Wesley, who was the founder of Wesley church.
In Tumkur, the Christian missionaries started their service for the first time at a place called Gubbi. This is because during those days railway lines and other forms of transportation got ended at Gubbi. Realising this Christian missionaries got dwelled at Gubbi for organising missionary programmes. After all, the Wesley church was officially started in Tumkur in 1848.From 1877 to 1880 there was a devastating famine in the country. In this context, the Wesleyan Methodist missionaries united with the Government and took responsibility for the welfare of famine victims and fostered the distressed children in orphanages. Some of them were made to get married and missionaries extended their hand by offering them farming fields and provided with facilities for livelihood.Presently, the Wesley church has grown to include more than 500 families. Thereby Wesley church is recognised as the mother congregation of few churches.
Sawdey church at Devanoor, Bethel church at Bethlur, Shanthi church, Stean church at Kuripalya, Gill church, Yesu kripalaya church at Rangapura and Sinai church at Ramalingapura.Commemorating the long history and heritage of Wesley church, India postal department has released a special envelope containing an image of the Wesley church at Tumkurpex held at Tumkur from 21-02-2020 to 23-02-2020.The year 2023 marks the 175th “Quarto-septennial” anniversary with a year long spiritual journey.
